From the moment you set foot in the doors at Garden Terrace you are welcomed with warmth. Garden Terrace has a special place in my heart. It embodies a home full of love and compassion, a place where each of you give of yourselves each day to provide hope, purpose and belonging to our residents.

In speaking to many of you when I visit your home you speak with such pride and contentment. Our friends and families that walk your halls speak affectionately of their satisfaction, peace of mind and admiration for what you for their loved ones.

Never forget that we are an organization that focuses on and believes in people. We judge our successes on how we change people’s lives, not on how well we comply with paperwork. We have countless stories of where we have given our residents their lives back, restored their independence and re-instilled their dignity. None of this was captured by the Citizen – they are not interested is sharing the spirit of hope, a balanced perspective, only negativity.

As you go home you can stand proud with your head held high. I know I will. You are doing great things for our residents every day.

Stand strong and united. We will not allow one reporter, one paper, to take what is ours - Our pride - as we give of ourselves unselfishly to our residents and each other.
